The state approved of the proposed annexation and is expected to be finalized in March.
EXPANDING CITY LIMITS
THIS RECORD-BREAKING ANNEXATION IS THE SECOND LARGEST IN IOWA HISTORY!
The purpose of the Norwalk Southwest Annexation is to secure Norwalk’s future and protect the financial investment in infrastructure through a comprehensive annexation westward from Norwalk City limits to the Warren County line. This preserves and improves why people want to live and work in Norwalk.
The yellow highlighted corridor includes 2900-acres of land and encompasses both sides of Interstate 35.
Investing in Infrastructure
The Expansion of Norwalk Includes:

2

The extension of Delaware St. will continue west towards 50th Ave. based on development needs.
3
Filmore Street Connection
The proposed future Iowa DOT interchange at I-35 and Filmore Street would connect Iowa Highway 28 out to Interstate 35.
